Human Computer Interaction
Human Computer Interaction(HCI) is study of computerized interactions between human and any task. It is one area of study under Human Factor Engineering. HCI describe how human can complete task with less computerized interactions. With the understanding of HCI principles, UX designer able to dictate Design Decisions.
1. Focus more on task, not on Interface
Role of interface is just to support completion of task, so design thinking has to be around completion of task.
2. Direct Modulation
Design of interface has to be metaphorically invisible, so user feel direct engagement with task.
3. Consider different user view models
- Processor Model
In Processor Model, Interface design has to fit with human behaviours. This Model is good for comparison, data driven decisions, optimatization of current designs.
- Predictor Model
In Predictor Model, Interface design has to fit with human cognitive abilities and user knowledge. This Model is useful for UX designers in getting reasons behind designs.
- Participant Model
In Participant Model, Interface design has to fit with user needs and context. This Model help designers to understand the context in which user perceive.
